Team Haglöfs Silva finished 3rd in the 24 hour West Coast Adventure Race, behind SAFAT and Thule Adventure Team. Multisport club Mölndal Outdoor arranged a fantastic race, starting with kayaking and orienteering in the west coast archipelago. This was followed by swimming over a fjord on air mattresses and then MTB-orienteering- MTB during the night.
Haglöfs Silva was, together with SAFAT, in the lead during the first half of the race. Unfortunately we made a few navigation errors on the first MTB section and dropped a bit behind the other teams. In the dark MTB- trek-MTB we had a smooth race with good navigation, but were not strong enough to catch up to the leading two teams.
This was the first time Kristin Larsson raced on the team and she made a great contribution, being strong throughout the race. Aside from the teams mediocre result it was great chance to get the season started and spend the weekend in some fantastic terrain. For more information on WCAR, check http://www.arseries.se/
Next up Björn and Aaron will compete in the Highlander Mountain Marathon near Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands on the 5th – 6th of June.
